This is for a College of Health Solutions COVID19 grant submission to develop a COVID19 Health Risk Assessment (HRA) app. The grant proposal is to cover the cost of developing the app and then testing the app by having a clinician meet a patient during a routine appointment, assist the patient in downloading and completing the HRA on the app, and then reviewing the results together. That can all occur in a single session. Then the patient will

They serve the purpose of educating the general public and provider community about MAT, as well as reducing the stigma regarding these critical medications. Feel free to use or disseminate in any capacity you see fit. Thank you!

As most or all of you are aware, one of the biggest challenges in the opioid epidemic is a critical shortage of prescribers of medication-assisted treatment (medications to treat substance use disorders). I wanted to make everyone aware of a very reduced cost ($25) buprenorphine waiver training opportunity in Northern Arizona on July 17th at the High Country Conference Center. This training is intended for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners seeking a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine.

Just a reminder that the deadline to register your intent and complete the initial tasks on MyDBH is 3/1 and is approaching fast. Remember that you do not need to have a site confirmed by this date, you only need to have a site targeted. This is a crucial deadline for us when determining staffing needs for internship in the Fall so please register (and complete the required tasks) even if you aren’t sure if you will be able to start. No extensions will be given.

While those of us involved in integrated care embrace this, we need to be aware that the workforce needed to deliver behavioral health services in an integrated system as behavioral health consultants (BHCs) is not readily available. While training is developing for individuals to embrace this during the educational process, we have practices transitioning now and no workforce to supply. To address this need we are developing an 8 week on-the-job training program for licensed professionals.
