The Travel issue, due on July 30, will be the last online issue of
Stimulus Respond. From the September number, Magic, Stimulus Respond
will be making the transition from pixels to paper. Some exclusive
material will still be downloadable from our website, but the magazine
as such will only be available by subscription and from selected
outlets. This is a chance for our readers to have delivered to them,
every two months, a document that is aesthetic as much as it is
thought-provoking and which is expected to become a collector's item.
Subscriptions are priced at £30 (UK), £40 (Europe)

Stimulus Respond: Two Columnists Sought

I am currently looking for two regular columnists for Stimulus Respond.

Started as a respite from the mundanity of the contemporary fashion
press, Stimulus is the first magazine to weave together anthropology and
art with the flair of a style magazine and the attitude of street
culture. Every two months, we present a combination of literature,
photography, fashion, poetry and music in order to construct a monograph
that explores the foundations of a world that we grow up to take for
granted.

Subject: UPDATE ON SENATE MEETING

A few of us attended the Senate committee to address propositions
53 and 54 which is proposing to eliminate the Graduate
Student Affairs Vice President position. This is an important position
representing graduate student concerns and allocation of research funds such
as travel grants from ASASU and the annual research competition (both forms of
support which have benefitted a large number of Anthropology graduate
students)

Subject: Re: ASASU legislation &GSAVP Office

As the director of the Graduate Research Support Dept. and a second year
Master of Public Administration student, I am sending you all a copy of the
two bills proposed by Senators Josh Ackerman (Law), Robert Sistak
(Engineering) and Mike Sosso (Liberal Arts & Sciences. The GSAVP office
receives a very small amount of total ASASU budget compared to the other
executive offices. The GSAVP Office receives $29,657.96, which is 3.97% of
total ASASU Budget $746,284.84. If graduate
students were to get their own student government, it would cost much more
than $29,000.

Chinesa emailed me yesterday about grad schools, but maybe someone from
sociocultural and/or museum studies can be more helpful than I am in those
areas. Thanks!

This sounds like a pretty neat job opportunity. I don't think you need to
have previous horseback riding experience, they will teach you. Talk to Dr.
Schoenwetter if you are interested.
